Bone Pain and Muscle Weakness..
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Well, this is quite a bit to address all at once, but I'll try. First of all, if you read the Vitamin D Side Effects page, you'll see that bone pain and muscle weakness can be VERY expected side effects, particularly if your vitamin d deficiency is very bad.

I would actually suggest that you wait a few weeks to see if your bone pain goes away before seeing an orthopedic surgeon because the bone pain is almost certainly from the Vitamin D Deficiency Treatment. But an orthopedic surgeon is NOT going to know this and he may put you through a whole bunch of expensive and unnecessary tests like bone scans, etc.

If you still have the bone pain in another few weeks, then go ahead, but really I think that seeing an orthopedist right now and having him think that you have a real problem with your bones is going to scare you unnecessarily. Bone pain is a completely expected result of vitamin d treatment. Please don't waste thousands of health care dollars trying to find out why. It's really just a waste. Just give it a few more weeks.

Next, probably part of the reason for some of your other symptoms, including the twitching, is Magnesium Deficiency. But don't bother asking your doctor to test you for it because, when you read my page on Magnesium Levels, you'll see that it's completely worthless and it's better to simply take magnesium as outlined on the Magnesium Dosage page and see if your symptoms improve.

Next, your stomach pain and the fact that you have these nutritional deficiencies and problems since you were a child make me believe that you have Gluten Sensitivity or Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance.

That's why you feel better eating nothing but chicken and vegetables- there's no gluten!!

So, just keep taking the Vitamin D and get on a Gluten Intolerance Diet and you might find that you get better without the help of your doctors!

Bone pain not going away
by: Anonymous

Hi,
I was diagnosed with vit d level of 18 ng/ ml in September 2015( and I wasn't facing any bone pain then)
The Dr put me on 60,000 IU once a week for 3 months then 60,000 IU fortnightly for 3 months .
I was tested again in December 2015 as I started having bone pain in my joints but my level had gone up to 65ng/ ml.
Since then he advised me to have 60,000 IU per month for a lifetime.
But the Main problem is that the pain didn't fade away till date.
So I myself got it tested agin in April 2016 and it has come to 45 ng/ml.
When will the pain finally fade away and what is the amount of vitamin d to take to maintain a level of above 50???
