Allergic to Vitamin D
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

It definitely does sound like you are having an allergic reaction.

While it could be the vitamin d, unless you've tried several different brands, it could also be an ingredient in the pills themselves as well.
One lady found that most pills contain talc and once she eliminated that, she was fine. And I always caution against vitamin d made with
any kind of oil as it could be rancid and that can cause reactions too.

Assuming that you really are having a reaction to the actual vitamin d, then your best choice is to get a Vitamin D Producing Tanning Bed/

There are really few other choices for you otherwise.

solution to Vit D Allergy
by: Anonymous

I have a need for Vit D3 (kidney disease) but also have a severe allergy to Vit D3 derived from lanolin, which is the source of essentially all Vit D3 available at a drug store or present in multi-vitamins. Here's a solution that worked for me: Vitamin D Vegan Nordic Naturals 1 fl oz Liquid.

[Kerri's note: That products is made by Vitashine, which is the only true vegan vitamin d3 that I've been able to find. So,I feel good about recommending this product].

Sperti Light
by: Anonymous

Do you know if the Sperti light is sufficient in increasing Vitamin D levels. I'm at 24 so would like to increase significantly but know if one will do the job. Also, if using a light, does one still need to consume magnesium?

I don't know if the Sperti light will bring up your levels sufficiently. Contact the manufacturer for that question.

And yes, you still need magnesium, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, iron and other Vitamin D cofactors regardless of how you get your vitamin D.

Lanolin allergy
by: Claudia

Hello. I don’t know how old is this thread but I also have a lanolin allergy and it causes inflammation in my right hand and it hurts! I was able to figure it out because when I was pregnant, the nipple cream I used was made from lanolin and it irritated my skin so much. I have no problems with Vitamin D Made From Lichen
Best of luck,

Claudia
