Yes, that's fine and preferable to prescription D2. But if you feel like your backsliding, it's probably because you are ONLY doing high dose vitamin d. I NEVER EVER EVER recommend that anyone do high doses of ONE SINGLE nutrient or you'll be asking for trouble. If you've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, you probably already had a relative magnesium deficiency, please see my page on Fibromyalgia and Magnesium.

Taking vitamin d is only going to make this relative deficiency worse and cause you to experience severe side effects that you might perceive as 'backsliding'. Please read my page on Magnesium and Vitamin D to see why that is the case.

In any event, you'll ALSO be asking for problems if you 'just' take those two nutrients in high dosages too. If you are going to try to resolve problems with Fibromyalgia and/or correct one major deficiency, then I suggest that you get on a HIGH QUALITY multivitamin and mineral pack such as Beyond Chelation Improved Multivitamin and Mineral Daily Packs that ALSO contains Vitamin A and Vitamin K, which deficiencies can ALSO lead to severe Vitamin D side effects.

There is MUCH that you can do for Fibromyalgia symptoms, but trying to address ONE single nutrient in high doses is a BAD idea...
